The 2008 forums of the “Incontri Cinematografici Italo-Svizzeri” are targeted at film producers and directors, with a specific focus on co-production.
Here is the detailed schedule of the roundtables and invited speakers:

 

FRIDAY 20.06.2008

18.00, Hotel La Palma – Villa Francesca

Towards the creation of a production laboratory for young authors: presentation of the project Variazioni in nero, by the Incontri Cinematografici Italo-Svizzeri
Speaking guest project coordinator Enrico Pastore (Modulo LEM).

The project is promoted by the Incontri Cinematografici Italo-Svizzeri and represents the first step towards the creation of a permanent production laboratory between Switzerland and Italy. The laboratory is aimed at the production of two pilots for a TV series and it is targeted at young authors from Ticino and Piedmont.

SATURDAY 21.06.2008

Morning session – Television and Cinema Production

National TVs are powerful promoters of national film industries. This open meeting with the Head of TV General Affairs for SRG SSR idée suisse, Alberto Chollet, is meant to explore the production policy of Switzerland’s main televisions.

Afternoon session – Co-production

The Cinema Departments of the Ministries of Culture play a central role in promoting national film production and in establishing international co-production agreements. This round-table between representatives of the Cinema Departments at Italy’s and Switzerland’s Ministries of Culture on one side, and a board of Italian and Swiss producers on the other, aims at checking the state of co-production between Italy and Switzerland at the highest possible level.
This round-table will be preceded by some case studies on several projects in development, so as to provide some concrete examples of international co-productions.

  • 15.00-16.00: 1 year of Piemonte Doc Film Fund: presentation of 4 documentaries supported by the fund of the Film Commission Torino Piemonte. Speaking guests: director Mirko Capozzoli and the producers Massimo Arvat (Zenit Arti Audiovisive), Enrica Capra (GraffitiDoc), Alessandro Borrelli (La Sarraz Pictures). Session chair: Paolo Manera (Film Commission Torino Piemonte).
  • 16.00-17.30: Round-table on co-production between Italy and Switzerland. Speaking guests: Francesco Ventura (Head of Production, Distribution and Technical Industries Department at the Cinema Section of Italy's Ministry of Culture), Oliver Müller (Head of Production at Switzerland's Federal Office of Culture) and the producers Elena Pedrazzoli (Peacock Film), Tiziana Soudani (Amka Films), Enzo Porcelli (Achab Film) and Lionello Cerri (Lumière & Co). Session chair: Luca Evangelisti.

 

 

SUNDAY 22.06.2008

Morning session

An open meeting between directors Silvio Soldini and Fulvio Bernasconi – the present and the future of Italian-Swiss cinema – aimed at checking the state of affairs of cinema in the Regio Insubrica.

Is it possible to create a network among the film festivals in the Regio Insubrica, between Northern Italy and Italian Switzerland? A round-table among representatives of the Busto Arsizio Film Festival, Locarno Film Festival, Bellinzona’s Castellinaria, and the Incontri Cinematografici Italo-Svizzeri.

    • 11.30: Insubria: from film festivals to film region, round-table with Nadia Dresti (Head of Industry Office of the International Film Festival Locarno), Gabriele Tosi (president of the Busto Arsizio Film Festival), Giancarlo Zappoli (director of Castellinaria), Luca Evangelisti and Enrico Pastore (directors of the Incontri Cinematografici Italo-Svizzeri). Session chair: Roberto Forte (general secretary of the Regio Insubrica community).
